Circling Ceres ~ 5 Mar 2015

Recently, we’ve been reminded that the New Horizons spacecraft approaches Pluto and promises to reveal more about this enigmatic binary planet and his lunar companions. And then on to the Kuiper Belt! Did you know that tomorrow a spacecraft named Dawn cozies up to Ceres and becomes gravitationally captured by the recently reinstated planet?

Astronomers already celebrate new realizations about Ceres. There are two curious white spots, some regions are chaotically fractured, some regions not. Ceres sports an array of craters in many sizes. Most interesting, she is very round.

When Ceres was discovered, it was initially thought she might be a planet. As other asteroids came to astronomical awareness, and given that astronomers could not be certain Ceres is round - part of a planet’s long-standing definition - she was demoted to the newly created asteroid category.

Those astronomers... demoting a goddess because they cannot be certain of her shape. #holygoddessgirdle (not a real hashtag). Wait, it gets worse. Those two white spots might be the result of water vapor emission. Okay, so now she’s round, and she is a planet, but she might have vapors!? Have they forgotten how enraged she became when Pluto took off with her daughter?

The round planet Ceres orbits the Sun every 4.6 years. Tomorrow (0 hr GMT), the day of the encounter with Dawn, she will occupy 21 Capricorn 14 as seen from the Earth. Viewed from the Sun, Ceres transits 5 Capricorn 00 as tomorrow begins. These two positions are actually perfect.

From the geocentric view, she is just over a degree short of an exact square to Eris in Aries and closing into exactitude as new reports from Dawn roll into mission control. How nice that Eris and she have an opportunity to discuss exclusivity and being included (or not) through a harsh aspect given that neither, with their reputations for reaction and discord, never topped guests lists at elite events. How much they have in common. Now, through the square, astronomers are respecting Ceres’ planetary status, much as they have with Eris. And how tidy, that it is because of Eris that Ceres’ astronomical social media status returned to planet in 2006.

From the heliocentric view, Ceres forms a sesquiquadrate with Jupiter in Leo. This tense aspect demands a revamp of the accumulated knowledge factors of this potent planet and all matters her symbolism rules, exactly as it will be as details from Dawn stream into our consciousness.

Ceres loves details and data. Her north node (heliocentric) is 20 Gemini 24. Her perihelion (closest solar contact, also a heliocentric measurement) logs in at 3 Virgo 33.

The node bears a planet’s mission statement. Here, it’s about assembling data, assessing the data from alternate points of view, and formulating option-oriented possibilities and making informed, inspired decisions. The node seeks to sooth any chaotic fractures that may occur in the mental process. You know like when Ceres declared she would end all agricultural activity on the planet if her daughter was not promptly returned in good health. Neglected was the end result that if plant life died on Earth, Ceres too, would be among the malnourished and starving.

The perihelion represents a body’s sense of urgency. With her perihelion in Virgo, she wants the facts right. She wants to be in correct standing, while seeking the perfect outcome... according to her mental processes.

Combining these influences, if one occupies a high road position and possesses cogent awareness of the facts at hand, the powers that be can be challenged with positive results. She did demand of Jupiter, god of the gods, that things get fixed. And it should be noted, the end result included benefits to all parties. Note to all legislative bodies: Cooperate. Create win-win legislation and leave no group of people behind, no matter how downtrodden or no matter what your opinion of the cause of their circumstance.

During transits from and to Ceres, it is possible to fight city hall. It is possible to petition for the rights of all people. After all, Ceres stands as a go-between planet between classical planet realms. She orbits outside the personal planets (Mercury through Mars) and before the planets of legislation, social standing and theological beliefs and doctrines (Jupiter and Saturn).

On August 29th, Jupiter, as seen by the Sun, exactly aligns with the perihelion of Ceres (heliocentric viewing). This is a good thing. In August and September, bracketing this alignment, positive gains can be made in addressing global hunger, the migration of people (those forced to flee, immigration), global health concerns, and taking on the 1% such that the offerings to those creating the resources of the economic elite are more than a pittance. It is a time when redistribution of wealth and economic parity are not seen as four-letter phrases. As well, remarkable progress can be made on the GMO front, whether in execution or labeling.

Personally, state your case without occupying a defensive position. Know your assets. Evaluate your resources. See the other side of your plans by pretending you are in the position of the person on the receiving end of your master agenda. If you’re writing a novel, write the first draft from the point of view of your antagonist; edit from the point of view of your antagonist. Think through all permutations of your projects - as the old saying goes, when you’re up to your ass in alligators, it is difficult to recall your original intention was to drain the swamp.

Knowing the above and detailing all the nitty gritty before taking your campaigns to the decision makers, you come off clear, confident, positive, easy to work with and cooperative, tractable and clear on the objective without the tendency to derail over a detail.

Take some time to circle Ceres. Study her position in your chart. Notice what she does as she transits your planets. Before you know it, she will be integrated into your chart as the planet she is, and there will be a new Dawn of awareness(es).

More soon.
